Using the Lassen IQ GPS Module

I first heard about the Lassen IQ GPS module ealier this year when someone asked if it could be used in the original Camera Watch project. I didn't know much about it, and attempts to get a sample of it got no where, so it fell by the road side.

It reappeared with the release of CameraWatch2, and now thanks to the effort of Piet Ooms from Holland it is supported by the software. Here is a picture of Piet's prototype:

There are some hardware changes required. Like the Crownhills product the module runs at 3.3 volts, so you will need a little adaptor. You can probably use the circuit I did for the Crownhills module, but Piet has also supplied a diagram for what he used.

I haven't played with this hardware, but if you would like more info about it then drop me an email (details on the contact page) and I will forward your questions to Piet.
